Residential Services St. Anne Institute's therapeutic residential program serves adolescent young women and their families. The primary focus of treatment is to reunite the child with her family and community in the briefest time possible. Our residential program serves young women from approximately 40 counties within New York State.
Referrals Referrals for St. Anne Institute's residential programs are made directly to the Intake Coordinator and can be made through a variety of sources including school district Committee's on Special Education, Probation Departments, Family Court, the Department of Social Services, or the New York State Office of Children and Families. Parents who may be interested in our residential program should contact their county's Office of Children's Services or speak to a counselor at their child's school, Family Court or local juvenile probation department. The referral packet should contain the following information:
- Social History, Probation reports, recent, Uniform Case Records, diagnostic evaluations and family assessments.
- Chronological accounting of movements/placement that should include detention stays, foster homes, diagnostic programs, group homes, rehabilitation centers and psychiatric hospitalizations.
- Court orders should include orders of placement, voluntary placement agreements and any other orders of protection, adjudication or findings.
- Psychiatric Evaluation including diagnoses and recommendations.
- Psychological Evaluations including diagnosis, personality and cognitive testing results and recommendations.
- School Information including current grade placement (grades 7-12 only) academic/achievement testing results, general behavior and conduct, and Individualized Education Program (IEP) and transcripts.
- Substance Abuse Evaluations if applicable.
- Medical Reports that must include updated immunization records to enroll a child in school. A medical history and reports of any ongoing medical condition are required along with all health insurance information.
Residential Admissions St. Anne's admissions process is designed to assess the family's strengths and issues and come to an agreement with the family about treatment. If a referral is deemed appropriate, a pre-placement visit is arranged with the referring agency. During the pre-placement visit the prospective student has separate interviews with the Intake Coordinator and the Consulting Psychiatrist. She may also be seen by the Special Education Instructor to determine her current level of academic functioning. Our programs are described in detail during this visit. The young woman and her family will have the opportunity to tour the agency and grounds with a resident who is already enrolled in the program.
A decision is given to the referring agency within 48 hours of the pre-placement visit with a possible admission date.
